Good grief, where the heck have I been that I haven’t seen this? Oh, yeah, I keep forgetting to watch TV lately, so things like this “Super Best Friends Forever” thing goes on the air behind my back. It’s a conspiracy, I tells ya!
So, apparently this is a series of comedy shorts about three of the “girls” of the DC comic universe, Supergirl, Batgirl, and Wonder Girl, who are the “Super Best Friends” of the title. The shorts air as part of the “DC Nation” series on Cartoon Network. Other shorts apparently are centered on other characters from DC comics, like the Teen Titans, Animal Man, Plastic Man and others.
In “SBFF” the three girls get into adventures like all superheroes do, but this is a comedy, so the humor takes precedence. I found the show through this short, where Kara (Supergirl) is staying with her cousin Clark Kent (Superman, duh) at the Kent farm with her adopted aunt. She’s grounded and so can’t go out fighting crime with Wonder Girl and one of the most hyperactive ADD Batgirls I’ve ever seen. Check it out for yourself, and I’m going to go check on their earlier shorts as well as the rest of the DC Nation.
(BTW, how many people could have guessed that Superman was a “mama’s boy?”
